How many times have we heard this saying, 'Think before you speak'? One of the valuable lessons of life is knowing when to be quite. It goes like another phrase I heard growing up, 'You have two ears and one mouth, listen twice as much as you speak.'
Despite the elections of a nation, the oppression of a dictator, or an international UN peacekeeping effort; our Lord is above all. He raises up and sets down the rulers of our day. Though we must be active in contacting our leaders, we should be more active in Prayer to the Lord that is high ABOVE ALL!!!
Movie stars are praised for a time but the fame falls away. Athletes are inducted into 'Hall of Fames', recorded in record books, and enshrined upon the names of buildings; but one day that too will fade away. The Lord, His name is to be praised. It has been praised, His name is praised still today, but His praise due Him is yet to come. We will one day stand in His presence and praise His name forever. The Lord's name is to be PRAISED!!!
A lost art in society today is the concept of thankfulness. Work in the service industry and you can spend eight hours without a 'thank you'. How long has it been since God heard that from you? Are we 'thankFULL' Christians or 'thankLESS' Christians?
The Bible is no fairy tale!!! God's Word is truth, truth for all generations. Truth for today, and the truth that God's mercy will last forever. The Bible is an everlasting truth of mercy toward mankind!!
What can we give the Lord? Give the Lord the glory due His name. When a new prince was born in England the country seemed to stop while waiting for news of the birth of this royal heir. How much more should we set aside for the glory that is contained in the name of Jesus Christ. Are we worshiping the name of Christ or the name of religion? Worship Christ by giving glory that is DUE unto His name!!!
Having recently been in the bay area of California, I saw numerous signs warning about the possibility of earthquakes and tsunamis. They instructed you to go to higher ground. Spiritually we must find our strength and refuge on higher ground. We must find our fortress in Jesus Christ!!!
